Scanning and observing your surroundings is one of the most important things to do while driving. If you are not aware of your surroundings, accidents can occur, such as bumping into the objects around you or bumping into other cars. According to statistics, teens are 10 times more likely to ignore scanning than middle-aged drivers. Here’s more information about scanning: Scanning is constantly being aware of everything around you and knowing when and where to complete a certain action (stopping, speeding, turning, etc.) 15 seconds is equivalent to one city block. When you look about 15 seconds ahead, you can make sure your car won’t bump into anything. In order to scan, look around, front and back side to side, and check for any minor problems that are occurring or can occur. Once you have noticed a certain problem, you can now take action and avoid it, all with the help of scanning. Scanning keeps you safe and aware! Scanning is a very important skill to learn in driving school. It will help keep you safe on the road. Driving schools teach scanning to teen drivers in order to increase reaction times and improve road safety.
